Ladybirds

 Welcome to Ladybird's Class

Our teacher is Mr Quinn-Dawes and we are supported by Mrs Ritchie, Mrs Elsalah and our student TAs Miss Holewa and Miss Murton.

A normal day in Year 2 consists of Spelling, Maths, English, Handwriting and Topic every day, with a selection of non-core subjects through the week: PE, Science, RE, Music, Computing, History, Geography, PSHE and Art/DT.

We focus on a new topic each term and our current topic is Mad Science!

We have enjoyed a slime workshop led by Lab Rascals and are looking forward to learning about materials and their uses.

Alongside our class learning, we ask for support from parents with learning at home also. We ask that children read at least 4 times a week and practise their weekly spellings, which are sent home on a Monday and tested the following Monday. Reading can included their school reading book but also books from home, library or even e-books, magazines or comics. It is important for children to read a variety of texts - both fiction and non-fiction and we kindly ask that parents record this in their reading diaries.

Maths homework is also set on a Monday, this will focus on something the children have been learning about in school.

Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday.
