Stallingborough CofE Primary School

Sowing the seeds of excellence; Honouring the dignity of all, Feeling Empowered.

Key Stages One and Two

At Stallingborough CE Primary School we follow the National Curriculum which can be downloaded by clicking the link below.

The children in Key Stage One & Two are taught a broad and balanced curriculum according to the guidance in the National Curriculum.

The subject areas in Key Stage 1 & 2 are:

Religious Education

Physical Education

Design Technology

Modern Foreign Languages (KS2 only)

We have recently adopted the published curriculum Cornerstones. Cornerstones is a knowledge and skills based curriculum with a creative edge.  Each topic taught lasts for one half term (a full term in Upper Key Stage 2) and always begins with an engaging activity, whether that be a trip, a visitor in school or an exciting demonstration or outside lesson to bring the topic to life and enthuse the children's interests.

All lessons are mapped to SMSC skills which includes aspects of the fundamental British values of:

  • democracy
  • the rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith

Each year group has chosen topics for the year and you can see these below.

For more information about the curriculum please speak to you child's class teacher or visit the Cornerstones website.

For Religious Education we follow the agreed syllabus for Humber and East Riding. Click the link below to see the long term plan for this subject.

We also have a responsibility to teach Personal, Health, Social, Citizenship Education (PHSCE), as well as the British Values - Mutual Respect, Tolerance of Different Beliefs and Faiths, Democracy and the Rule of Law and Individual Liberty.  Please see the Long Term Plan for our PHSCE and RSE curriculum below.
